Update website general settings
Change your website basics like business information, domain, and branding controls.
Where this lives
Open Website Editor -> General. This is where site identity, domain, SEO defaults, social metadata, and brand assets are maintained.
Fields on this screen
- Site identity usually includes website name, logo, favicon, and brand icon. Keep these assets crisp, consistent, and sized for web use rather than print files.
- Domain controls are where you confirm the demo domain, custom domain connection, and canonical URL behavior. If custom domains are plan-gated, verify subscription access before troubleshooting DNS.
- SEO and social settings usually include default search engine fields, social links, Open Graph image, Twitter card content, and any meta tag overrides used for special pages.
Checks that prevent publishing problems
- Upload image assets in the expected format and keep file sizes reasonable so branding loads quickly across devices.
- If the preview domain works but the custom domain does not, confirm DNS, verification status, and whether the plan includes custom-domain support.
- Only use manual meta overrides when the default title, description, or canonical logic is not enough, because overrides are easy to forget later.
