Enable social sharing on your website
Let customers share your website, product pages, and category pages with a simple set of sharing buttons.
Where this lives
Open Website Editor -> General, then find Social sharing. This controls whether share buttons appear on your public website and which sharing options customers can use.
What you can share
- Homepage sharing helps customers send your main website to friends, family, schools, churches, companies, or event planners.
- Product page sharing helps customers send a specific rental item, such as a bounce house, water slide, or package they are considering.
- Category page sharing helps customers send a group of rentals, such as water slides or obstacle courses.
Choose where buttons appear
Turn on only the placements that make sense for your site:
- Homepage
- Product pages
- Category pages
If you mostly want customers to share specific inventory, start with product pages. If you want broader word-of-mouth traffic, include the homepage and category pages too.
Choose sharing channels
BouncePlatform uses direct share actions instead of third-party sharing widgets. You can enable:
- Text message
- X
Text message and copy link are usually the most useful options for local rental businesses because many customers coordinate parties by phone. Facebook can also be useful for neighborhood groups, parent groups, and local community pages.
Make shared links look good
Share buttons send the page link, but the preview shown by Facebook, text messages, and other apps comes from your website metadata.
Before turning sharing on, review Website Editor -> General:
- Set a clear website name.
- Add a strong Open Graph image under Social & sharing images.
- Keep your default description short and customer-friendly.
- Use clear product names, product photos, and category images where possible.
Product and category pages use their own photos when available, which helps shared links feel specific instead of generic.
Checks after enabling
- Open your public website and confirm share buttons appear only where you expect.
- Test on mobile, especially Text message and Copy link.
- Open a product page with a strong photo and confirm the buttons do not distract from the booking action.
- If a shared link preview looks plain, update the page image, product photo, or Open Graph image and try again after the social network refreshes its cache.
